THE MHC WARMING CENTER IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT
WE WILL BE MOVING BACK TO THE SALVATION ARMY LOCATION FOR THE 2023-2024 SEASON!!
We have been pretty quiet as we have been trying to plan and prepare.
We will be posting volunteer trainings once we get everything situated and some plans in place in regards to operations. Our potential start date is Nov 1, 2023. Thank you all who have prayed and offered support. We’re gonna continue to need all of that moving forward as this will be a big transition.
We would also like to say a special thanks to several of our community partners (United Way of Henry County & Martinsville, Grace Network, The Community Dream Center, Piedmont Community Services, The West Piedmont Better Housing Coalition, First United Methodist Church, Salvation Army, and the Martinsville City Emergency Housing & Community Support Commission) for advocating and supporting us throughout the process of seeking a new space.
We are also so incredibly grateful for the last 4 years we spent with Forest Hills Presbyterian Church who have always gone above and beyond to ensure that their space was a safe, welcoming place for those experiencing homelessness within the winter months the last 4 years.
We have so much to be grateful for and are so excited for all that is to come.
STAY TUNED!
Thank you all so incredibly much,
Ariel Johnson

What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families.
Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer.
You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’ - from Isaiah 58 (The Message Bible)
